Heading Back To School



ATLANTA -- Summer officially ended Monday for thousands of students across metro Atlanta.

School started Monday for students in the city of Atlanta, as well as Fulton, Gwinnett, Cobb and DeKalb counties.It's back to school at South Cobb High and some parents seemed more nervous than the students.

Parent Charlene Cochran shrugged off her own nervousness to reassure her daughter, a new freshman at the school."I'm a little nervous," Cochran said. "She's nervous. But I told her, she's going to be fine."

Clarissa Isvogul, a returning 10th grade student, said she is just glad the boring summer is finally over."I'm ready to see all my friends," Isvogul said. "I'm ready to learn. I'm just ready."

In Gwinnett County, nearly 160,000 students headed back to class.The county's largest school is Mill Creek, where more than 4,000 students showed up for the first day of school Monday morning.More than 100,000 DeKalb County students are expected to return to the classroom on Monday as well.

Many students in Cobb county stopped into Atlanta Beauty Depot so that they could Go back to school with style.
